Frenchman's Bay Stormwater Management Master Plan
The City of Pickering and the Waterfront Coordinating Committee are dedicated to seeing the waterfront become a place that achieves a wide range of objectives including public use and recreation, environmental sustainability, enhanced tourism and commercial linkages.
A Stormwater Management Master Plan for Frenchman's Bay and its' contributing watersheds was initiated by the City of Pickering and its' consultant MMM Group in 2006 as it was identified as a priority project in the five-year implementation plan for Pickering's waterfront. The recommended Master Plan consists of a group of projects, programs and policies designed to address issues related to flooding, erosion and poor water quality as well as a comprehensive restoration plan that will increase and improve the habitat function of the Provincially Significant Wetlands located within Frenchman's Bay and Hydro Marsh.
