Development Charges
Development charges are an important funding source for the City to help pay for the cost of infrastructure needed for future growth.
Our 2012 Development Charges Pamphlet provides a summary for general information only. To determine charges applicable to specific development proposals, review the City's Development Charges By-law No. 6978-09.
A paper copy of this by-law is available to view in the Corporate Services Department, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
We also collect Education Development charges and Region of Durham Development charges on behalf of the Region. The final amounts will be determined after the plans in support of a building application have been reviewed.
