Nautical Village

The busy city pace slows down as you enter our magical Nautical Village; a perfect pathway dotted with shops and cafes that seamlessly merge with Lake Ontario.

Download the guide to Shops & Eateries of Pickering ’s Nautical Village, Events & Festivals.  View our calendar for details on upcoming events, including the Strawberry Festival.

The breathtaking horizon is interrupted only by the silhouettes of the yachts gathered in the marina as the water dances with tunes of summer evening entertainment at Millennium Square.

A leisurely activity for beginners or a tempting challenge for the pros - we have the waters for whatever your skill level, and getting out on the lake and exploring Pickering by kayak or canoe is definitely a must try. The views alone are worth the inexpensive costs of renting for a couple of hours. Visit Silverstone Paddle for information on renting or Jazzy Charters for information on private and corporate charter yachts.

Loran's Gifts & Collectibles

Loran's Gifts & Collectibles joined Pickering's Nautical Village, winter of 2004. An intimate boutique of distinct gifts and one-of-a kind finds, Ann Doucet the store owner, admits her shop is as unique as the community itself. Home to a magical mix of unexpected delights, Ann assures her guests will enjoy a great shopping experience and may even have a few chuckles along the way. "We have a very loyal customer base," says Ann. "We know most of our customers by name here. This is Pickering, not Toronto, so it's nice to be a neighbour." The customer service is as personalized as the gifts available, providing shop goers with a memorable shopping experience that's just as hard to find as the collectible you'll leave with.

Carberry Soaps

Carberry Soaps came to Pickering Spring of 2011. Situated in Nautical Village at the foot of Liverpool Road they have captured the attention of lakefront passersby with the tantalizing smells of banana and coconut and strawberry sorbet...soaps! The ladies of Carberry soaps have brought bathing to another, quite delicious, level. Originating as an online company, Margo explains Pickering's waterfront was the ideal location to take her small business to the next step. "The walk-in traffic is amazing down here," says Margo. "Nautical Village is an immaculate location, so it made perfect sense to start here when looking for a commercial space." Because the store hours are staggered, Margo explains operating out of a live-work unit is a tremendous convenience. "Living directly upstairs from the shop is a huge advantage - I have to be available for my clients." Carberry Soaps has raised over $10,000 collectively for The Durham Children's Aid Society and The Thomas & George Campbell Foundation in support of mental health. Describing this initiative as a wonderful opportunity to give back, Margo is extremely proud and continues to donate.
