Members Wanted for New Committee:
Seniors Culture & Recreation Council

Applications must be received before November 30, 2015.

The Seniors Culture & Recreation Council will:

  • Act as an advisory group to the Culture & Recreation Staff
  • Provide new and exciting ideas for possible future Seniors projects
  • Work with staff to complete newsletters
  • Help develop and complete a Seniors website
  • Help promote Seniors events in the community
  • Help identify the current needs of today's Adults 55+
  • Assist with special events and projects

Applicants must reside in Pickering and be over the age of 55. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Successful applicants should expect to volunteer approximately two hours per month.  Meetings occur on the 2nd Wednesday of every other month from January to June, and September to December.  Special meetings may be scheduled if deemed necessary by all council members.

Rouge Hill Seniors Club invites you to come out Monday to Friday. The club hosts their monthly meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 1 pm. Membership is required (nominal yearly fee).

The South Pickering Seniors' Club invites you to come out Monday to Saturday. Club meetings are held Tuesdays at 12:45 pm.  Membership is required (nominal yearly fee).   

Activities include darts, shuffleboard, bingo, chess, card games and more!
