2015 Camps

Committed to providing children a safe, fun & rewarding camp experience.

Our staff are certified with Standard First Aid & CPR-C. All staff have completed courses on the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and have gone through Vulnerable Sector Screenings with Durham Regional Police Services. They are experienced, creative and enthusiastic leaders of fun.

Summer Camp Session Letters

Choose your camp from below for your session letter containing specific camp information for the week.  Please also fill out and return a medical form and photo release for your child attending camps.

Summer Fun Camps



Mini Pidaca 3-5 yrsA new theme each week with activities designed to get little campers moving and participating in arts, crafts, and dance activities.
Friends & Fun Camp 5-12 yrsAvailable the first week of summer only, Arts, Sports, and Adventure camp all rolled into one!
Adventure Camp 5-12 yrsFor the camper who enjoys the outdoors! Activities include crafts, camping skills, creek walks & outdoor games. Swimming 3 times weekly and a trip to explore the outback in the city.  Every week is a new adventure!
Arts Camp5-12 yrsCampers enjoy a wide variety of crafts, games & activities, along with theme days, drama & dance classes. All have been designed to showcase and encourage creativity.  Swimming daily.
 Sports Camp5-12 yrsFor the camper who loves being both indoors & out, and active!  Special themes keep the whole summer new and exciting.  Swimming daily.
Time Traveller Camp5-12 yrs

The time traveller team will be blasting through the past at amazing speed! Kids will embark on quests that challenge them to solve puzzles, explore the outdoors, travel the world, and time at our 27 acre living history museum.

Camp Finale5 - 12 yrsAvailable for the last week of summer only!  Enjoy all the favourites from Adventure, Arts, and Sports this week with a special Play Day at the end.  Swimming daily.
Extend a Camp3 - 12 yrsBefore and after camp care is available for our summer fun camps.
Free Busing3 - 12 yrsFree busing option is available for our summer fun camps.  Be sure to check out bus route and indicate when registering.



Specialty Camps



Mad Science Camp5 - 12 yrsAvailable 2 weeks only!  Choose from "Science Sleuth" and "Machine Maniacs" - register early.
Summer French Program6 - 10 yrsA fun 1/2 day program designed for kids who want to learn, or keep up their french skills. 
Skateboard Camp7 - 14 yrsNo experience needed! This fun camp is for those who love to skate or kids just learning.
Xbox & PC Video Game Creation Camp8 - 12 yrs
2 - 15 yrs
Explore game design and characters with multiplayer and multilevel functions - Kids will program their own Xbox or PC games!
3D Printing & Modelling Camp8 - 12 yrs
12 - 15 yrs
Kids will spend the week using a 3D printer, fabricating their own 3D objects like cars, jewellery, robots & toys.
Fitness Camp11 - 15 yrsAn active and educational introduction to safe practices while working out,  the gym equipment, fitness classes and basic nutrition & body science. 






Counsellor in Training13 - 14 yrsGoal setting, communication, leadership, healthy living and resume building are just some of the things we will cover in this interactive program.  Second week - gives a chance to test skills in a camp setting.  A great start for any future camp counsellor.
Assistant Counsellor Program14 - 16 yrsLearn what it is like to work in a summer camp setting.  Earn community service hours required for high school graduation. 
Applicants must register before May 29, 2015 for training purposes.

Campers with Special Needs

Registration for campers requiring additional staff support must be submitted in person at Pickering Recreation Complex by Monday, May 11, 2015.  Please call 905.420.4621 or email registration for further information.
