Dog Waste Diversion Program

Now it's even easier to keep Pickering Parks clean. Residents can use biodegradable bags provided by the City when stooping & scooping in the pet-friendly areas listed below. Dog waste is removed on a regular basis and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Pickering's Dog Waste Diversion program is available at these 13 locations:

Alex Robertson Park

Brockridge Park

Bronte Square (pedestrian bridge)

Bruce Hanscombe Memorial Park

Diana Princess of Wales Park

Dunmoore Park

Esplanade Park

Forestbrook Park

Grand Valley Park, dog off leash area (3 stations)

J. McPherson Park

Major Oaks Park

Millennium Square

Instead of going to a landfill, dog waste from these locations is processed and disposed of at the Region of Durham's Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant.
