Pickering Animal Services declares December as the official Home 4 the Holidays month

Help us reach our goal of adopting out 55 animals between October 1st and December 31st, 2012.

This holiday season the City of Pickering, Animal Services Section is joining thousands of other animal organizations from around the world to participate in the Iams Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive. Our goal is to help place homeless animals into happy, loving homes.  

Staff and volunteers have agreed to devote their time, resources and energy to this united effort to bring attention to stray and unwanted pets.

Pickering Animal Services will work throughout the holiday season with a goal of helping place adoptable animals into loving, lifelong homes.

Animal Shelter Location

We are now located at 1688 Highway 7, Brougham. Along with our location, our hours have changed as well.

Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday - 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday - Closed

Council approval was received in late October, 2011 to retrofit a 2500 sq ft building into an animal shelter to house lost and unclaimed animals until they can be re-homed.

The shelter can to hold up to 14 dogs and 50 cats at any given time.
This location is a big step forward for us however, within 5 years time we estimate that we will have outgrown this location.

We are already in the works developing a plan to build a permanent animal shelter in Pickering. In the meantime we are happy to finally have our own facility and look forward to working with you to better the lives of the pets in Pickering.
