City of Pickering 2023 Civic Awards – Nominate Today!

The City of Pickering invites the community to nominate a deserving individual, group, or business for a 2023 Civic Award.
Every year the City of Pickering presents Civic Awards to members of the community who have exemplified outstanding service and achievements making significant contributions to the City.
Nomination categories include:
Special Citation Award: an outstanding achievement(s) that brought provincial, national or international recognition to the City
Bravery Citation Award: for a selfless act of bravery or heroism
Lifetime Achievement Award: for a significant contribution, over the recipient’s lifetime, to the betterment of the community
Individual Volunteer Award: for individuals who stand out amongst all other valuable individuals in Pickering for volunteer service to the City
Service Group Award: for activities that stand out amongst all other service groups in Pickering for their contribution and service to the City
Community Group Award: awarded to the service group whose activities stand out amongst all other service groups in Pickering for their contribution and service to the City
Amateur Sports Award: awarded to recognize excellence in amateur sports
Youth Volunteer Award: awarded for outstanding volunteerism
Youth Leadership Award: awarded for outstanding leadership
Sustainability Award: awarded for a significant contribution to the Sustainable Pickering Journey
Arts Award: awarded to recognize significant artistic achievements
Cultural Diversity Award: awarded for a significant and sustained commitment to the promotion of cultural harmony
Heritage Award: awarded for a significant contribution to the preservation, conservation, education and/or promotion of Pickering’s heritage
Urban Design Award: awarded for a significant contribution to architecture, urban design, or parks and open space design
Economic Development Award: awarded for a significant contribution to the City’s economic prosperity
Local Business Award: awarded for an outstanding support and participation in community activities
Environment Award: awarded for conserving or enhancing the City’s natural environment
Accessibility Award: awarded for a significant or ongoing contribution, beyond legislative requirements, to the well-being and advancement of people with accessibility requirements
Applications for the 2023 Civic Awards Nominations will be accepted until February 8th, 2024.
