The Study

The City of Pickering has completed the Claremont Drainage Plan Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the existing drainage system and to assess alternative solutions to reduce localized surface flooding within the Hamlet of Claremont (see Key Map).

The Process

The study was conducted in accordance with the Master Plan process as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association’s, Municipal Class EA (October 2000, amended 2007, 2011 and 2015). Two online Public Information Centres were held in order to gather comments and input from stakeholders and the public.

All preferred alternative solutions identified as elements of the Master Plan fall within Schedule A/A+ undertakings and can therefore proceed directly to detailed design and/or construction, these projects are not subject to Section 16 Order requirement. Please note that Schedule A+ projects will require additional public notification prior to implementation.
