Programs in the Park 55+

Pickering, ON, May 26, 2021 – Programs in the Park are back! The City of Pickering is launching an exciting initiative that seeks to ensure the lives of 55+ Pickering Residents are enriched by programs and services that support active and engaging activities in our community. The City of Pickering will be exploring the opportunities of building more inclusive and accessible programs for Pickering 55+ residents throughout this pandemic.

Don’t miss the opportunity to register for Programs in the Park 55+ that are taking place throughout the summer. Programs in the Park 55+ are outdoor programs that will be offered to seniors once a week at George Ashe Library & Community Centre starting the week of Tuesday, July 6.  Programs will include, but are or not limited to, Latin Line Dance, Country Line Dance, Art in the Park, Bingo in the Park and many more.

Programs in the Park will run every Tuesday between 10:30 am – 11:30 am, Bingo in the Park will run on Thursday’s with two sessions running from 10:00 am – 11:00 am and from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, and Art in the Park will run every Friday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Weather permitting, all park programs will take place at George Ashe Library & Community Centre within the park area.

To reserve a spot for Programs in the Park 55+ please visit Active Net to register. All programs will follow the Provincial and Health Department guidelines. Prescreening will be required before the start of every program and maximum numbers will be adhered to. Participants will be required to wear a mask during the prescreening and check in portion of each program.
