Spring Leisure Programs

Pickering, ON, March 5, 2021 – Pickering residents can return to programs!

The City of Pickering has been successful in launching exciting initiatives that seeks to ensure the lives of Pickering Residents are enriched by programs and services that support active engagement in their community.  The City of Pickering will continue to explore opportunities to build more inclusive and accessible programs for residents throughout the pandemic.

Don’t miss the opportunity to register for the spring program of your choice taking place at the East Shore Community Centre, George Ashe Library & Community Centre, Don Beer Arena and Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex. Program options include structured, instructional programming for all ages, in a safe and fun setting.  Visit pickering.ca/active to find out more or to register.

Leisure Programs will begin Monday, April 26th and registration for Pickering residents opens Thursday, April 1st.  Non-resident registration will open on Thursday, April 8th.  Programs include, but are not limited to, Parent/Grandparent & Tot, Pre-School, Children, Youth, Adults and Adults 55+. 

Registered programs will run in person and virtually, including but not limited to, Spring Break Camp, Fitness, Dance, Art, Music, Pottery, Home Alone/Babysitters Training, Karate, STEM (Electronic/Robotics/Silly Science), Badminton and Language.  To reserve a spot or to learn more, please visit pickering,ca/active or follow up on Facebook at Recreation Pickering.  You can also visit the website at pickering.ca for additional program details.  Only programs with sufficient registration will proceed.

All programs will follow the Provincial and Regional Health Department guidelines. Prescreening will be required before the start of every program and maximum numbers will be adhered to. Participants in grade 1 or older will be required to wear a mask, covering both the mouth and nose, provide successful prescreening, and check in.
