Pet groomers permitted to operate in Pickering

Pickering, ON, May 12, 2020 – The City of Pickering is pleased to announce that pet groomers can open for business to provide for the health and welfare of pets.

The decision comes after discussion with Durham Region Municipal Enforcement Managers and Durham Regional Police.

Businesses must meet all provincial requirements regarding physical distancing, curbside drop-off and pick-up, contactless payment, and prohibiting customers from entering the store. Staff must be able to complete work duties while complying with physical distancing, and be provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment.   

Businesses must schedule appointments for one animal at a time, and ensure drop-offs and pick-ups do not overlap with other appointments.
