O’Brien Arena Indoor Skateboard Park

Posted on Thursday February 25, 2021

Pickering, ON, February 25, 2021 - The City of Pickering continues to enhance opportunities for sport and recreation engagement during this pandemic and is excited to announce the opening of the O’Brien Arena Indoor Skateboard Park at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex!

The City of Pickering has developed an indoor skateboard park on the arena floor with support from the Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund. The City of Pickering is one of 668 sport and recreation organizations across the country to be provided with grant support to assist with strategies to return to sport and recreation programming. We are grateful to Jumpstart and thrilled to offer this opportunity to our community.

The indoor skateboard park will remain in place until the spring, when items from the skateboard park can be relocated to provide outdoor pop-up opportunities. We look forward to the future opportunities available to us through this funding and developing this initiative for our residents.

Opportunities for sport and recreation engagement, such as pickleball and basketball, have been implemented into the arena floor offerings with great success! Programs are available for all ages!

To reserve a spot for any of the available arena programs, please visit pickering.ca/active to register. All programs will follow the Provincial and Health Department Guidelines. Prescreening will be required before the start of every program. Masks and helmets are required during use of the skateboard park.
