Ice Storm Update: April 16, 3:30 pm

Winter Response

  • Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Snow Clearing Program will begin clearing all routes at midnight tonight. 
  • Storm cleanup operations continue this morning - Crews are focused on plowing and salting on priority routes. Please be patient and continue to exercise caution when travelling.
  • A reminder to residents to clear catchbasins near their homes to help prevent flooding. 
  • Please exercise extreme caution around all bodies of water and avoid driving in low-lying areas and roadways particularly at underpasses, as well as the shoreline.

Closures and Service Disruptions

  • Arts Studio Opening for Monday, April 16 (1-3 pm) at the Pickering Recreation Complex has been cancelled. 
  • All registered programs (including fitness classes) have been cancelled at all City facilities for Monday, April 16. 
  • All Free Teen programs have been cancelled. 

Power Outages

  • View Veridian’s Power Outage Map
  • Veridian customers can register for my.alerts through the customer portal, my.veridian, and choose what notification method they would like to receive - SMS/text, email and/or phone call. Customers will receive a notification when there's an outage affecting two or more addresses, the estimated time of restoration has been updated and power has been restored.
