Premier Ford to Break Ground on New, Multi-Unit, Industrial Complex in Pickering

Pickering, ON, September 21, 2022 – Premier Doug Ford will be breaking ground on a new, 233,000 square foot, multi-unit, industrial complex developed in partnership by SmartCentres and Lastman’s Bad Boys in Pickering’s Innovation Corridor, with the lead tenant, Lastman’s Bad Boy, taking 130,000 square feet for its new, state-of-the-art, corporate head office and distribution centre.

WHERE: 3550 Sideline 24 (west side of Sideline 24, immediately north of Highway 407)

With an estimated value of $70M, the target completion date of the project is March 2023.  In addition to the construction related jobs and economic spin-off, the relocation of Lastman’s Bad Boy head office and distribution centre will bring over 200 new jobs to Pickering and Durham Region. 

Pickering’s Innovation Corridor encompasses over 800 acres of prestige employment lands and is currently the home of Kubota Canada’s headquarters and operations facility.  The City looks to make additional Innovation Corridor investment announcements in the next coming weeks.
