Notice of Study Completion - Whitevale Drainage Master Plan Class EA

The City of Pickering has completed the Drainage Master Plan Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to address the drainage system deficiencies which are contributing to localized surface flooding and erosion within the Hamlet of Whitevale (refer to Study Area shown on the Key Map).

The study was conducted in accordance with the Master Plan process as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association’s Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007 and 2011).

Two Public Information Centres (PICs) were held in order to gather comments and input from stakeholders and members of the public. The first PIC was held on September 12, 2012 and the second PIC was held on November 14, 2012.  As required by the Municipal Class EA, the study was documented in a Master Plan Class EA document and is available for viewing on the City’s website and at the following locations during business hours:

Please note that all of the preferred solutions identified as elements of the Master Plan fall within Schedule A/A+ undertakings and can therefore proceed directly to detailed design and / or construction.  However, Schedule A+ projects will require additional public notification prior to implementation.
