Cultural Advisory Committee Vacancy
The City of Pickering encourages citizens to participate in their community by volunteering for one of our boards, committees or taskforces. The Cultural Advisory Committee is currently accepting applications from citizen volunteers.
Cultural Advisory Committee (CAC)
Role: The Cultural Advisory Committee (CAC) will identify and coordinate opportunities for stakeholder and community engagement and provide community input on matters relating to the provision of cultural services, including the Pickering Museum Village. The CAC will assist City staff with the development, consultation, and implementation of the Cultural Strategic Plan.
Number of Vacancies: Ten (10)
Qualifications: Membership will be sought on the basis of broad interest, understanding and commitment to cultural development in the municipality, in addition to specific expertise and interest related to Culture.
Knowledge and experience in the following areas is considered an asset:
- professional art;
- cultural business;
- graphic design;
- architecture or landscape design;
- performing arts;
- music;
- festival or event planning; and,
- historical and heritage fields of study.
Meetings: Third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
