Pickering, ON, September 15, 2023

Pickering Museum Village is bringing back holiday favourites this winter.

‘A Storybook Christmas’ was the museum’s most successful program of 2022, and it’s back with a brand-new story for 2023. Teddy is on another holiday adventure: help him find his way to the Toy Store and to a family in time for Christmas!

Teddy’s journey takes him through celebrations of the holiday season, including wintertime activities and holiday origins. Guests of all ages will find themselves immersed in the holiday season as they enjoy treats, crafts, trivia, music, and more. And don’t forget – no visit would be complete without seeing the man in red himself!

“A Storybook Christmas” runs on weekends from November 25th to December 10th. The program will also run on weekdays as “Teddy’s Holiday Adventure” for education bookings, from November 24th to December 21st. Please reach out to the museum to book your experience.

Speaking of Santa Claus, you can reserve a slot for your very own family or pet photos with Santa on November 11th and 12th! Part of the proceeds will be donated to an animal charity. Slots are limited – make sure to book your time soon!

There’s also a chance to make your own holiday decorations at the museum, just in time for the holidays! Our Swag Making Workshop returns on November 18th and 19th to show you how to make a traditional ‘swag’, a decorative mix between a wreath and garland, in a session guided by our expert Museum Interpreters.

Design your own holiday swag with ribbon and natural accents such as pinecones and bittersweet branches. Along the way, learn about how the swags were used for holiday decorating in the past. This workshop is completed outdoors, so come dressed for the weather. Bring your family and friends for a creative and fun time. Two workshop slots are available per day!

Tickets for Museum events are on sale now at: https://www.pickering.ca/en/discovering/pmv-whats-on.aspx or by phone at 905-683-8401.
