Pickering, ON, April 19, 2017 - The City of Pickering has won Gold in the 2017 Hermes Creative Awards for its Responsive Website Design and Development project.
Launched in early 2017, the website project included a complete redesign to ensure an intuitive and responsive web experience across all devices and screen sizes.
Website highlights include:
- Responsive design, meaning that the site will resize accordingly to the device being used.
- Social media integration and prominence on the home page and interior pages.
- Integrated news signup, providing a central location for visitors to subscribe to eNewsletters, services disruptions, public notices, and more.
- Enhanced events and meetings calendar, with an option for the public to submit events for posting consideration.
“The City of Pickering is committed to enhancing access to online services and information to create a more connected, engaged, and inclusive community,” said Mayor Dave Ryan. “I am proud and honoured that Pickering’s efforts have been recognized in this international awards program.”
The Hermes Creative Awards, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of marketing and communication programs, and print, visual and audio materials. Winners range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies.
