Pickering, ON, July 12, 2024 – The City of Pickering has received a $35,000 grant from PetSmart Charities of Canada to help support its Animal Shelter and the animals in its care.

The Regional Municipality of Durham is proceeding with road rehabilitation on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) from north of Ninth Concession Road (Regional Road 5) to 200 metres north of Uxbridge Pickering Townline Road, in the City of Pickering and Township of Uxbridge. Work will consist of pulverizing asphalt, culvert replacements, placement of granular A, ditching, placement of asphalt including paved shoulders, new guide rail and new pavement markings.

The City of Toronto has advised that Stott's Bridge, located on Twyn Rivers Drive over Rouge River ( Bridge ID803  -  Twyn Rivers/Rouge River ), is closed to all motorized and vehicular traffic due to safety concerns identified during recent inspections. The bridge will remain open for cyclists and pedestrians. The closure began on July 5th, 2024 at 11 am.
