Ontario has enacted a Provincial Emergency and Stay-at-Home Order - Effective Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., the government is issuing a province-wide Stay-at-Home order requiring everyone to remain at home except for essential purposes.
Pickering City Hall is currently closed to the public. Staff remain available to serve residents virtually during the regular business hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

By-law Services - 905.683.7575The below applications can be accepted by email, payment drop off in drop box (located between Central Library and Pickering City Hall), and permits will be issued by email or mail.
Staff will only be responding to by-law complaints where it is deemed to be an immediate public health or safety concern. We encourage residents to submit concerns or issues to our Customer Care Centre and they will be addressed as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so. Parking ticket payments:

Animal Services - 905.683.7575Staff will be available to respond to issues relating to dog bites, found dogs, and sick or injured wildlife that are contained for pick up. Officers will not be addressing non-essential issues at this time. Although the animal shelter is closed to the public, staff are continuing to go in on a daily basis to feed, clean, and exercise all animals in our care. Pets currently up for adoption can be viewed online. If you have lost a pet and it is at our shelter, please call Customer Care and arrangements will be made to claim your pet. Public Works - 905.683.7575Staff will continue with spring cleanup efforts. Roads maintenance staff will continue to repair potholes, signage, and grade gravel roads. Parks Maintenance staff will continue with roadside and parks garbage pickup. Residents are asked to continue to report any problems to our Customer Care Centre. T. 905.420.4605 Planning Services - 905.420.4617All Open Houses, Public Meetings, Committee Meetings and Council Meetings continue to be conducted electronically. This includes the Executive Committee, Planning & Development Committee, Committee of Adjustment, the Heritage Advisory Committee, the Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Site Plan Advisory Committee. All pre-consultation meetings are being conducted electronically until further notice. Please submit development applications, including applications to the Committee of Adjustment for a minor variance to the zoning by-law, electronically. We are continuing to process development applications, receive and respond to comments and questions either by email or telephone, conduct electronic meetings with individuals/applicants/residents, and are reviewing and preparing reports to Committees of Council and Council. Meetings of the Advisory Committees of Council, Committees of Council, and Council are streamed live on Pickering’s YouTube Channel. Many open house and public meetings are also streamed live. Building Services - 905.420.4631Building Services is still working to process permits and conduct inspections. New Building Permit applications continue to be reviewed and processed electronically. For information on submitting new applications for Building Permits, or to enquire about your current Building Permit contact a Building Services Clerk. Mandatory inspections for issued building permits are still required, however current Emergency Orders may prevent us from being able to inspect certain types of construction projects.
