Parks and Sports Field Amenities

In accordance with the new provincial public health measures, the following City of Pickering outdoor recreational amenities will be closed:

  • basketball courts
  • pickleball court
  • public tennis courts
  • skateboard park
  • outdoor washroom facilities (with the exception of select portable toilets, listed below)

What's open?

  • Outdoor exercise is permitted under the Stay at Home Order and Pickering’s parks and trails remain open. Please be advised that outdoor gatherings will be restricted to persons from the same household, and people who live alone may join one other household.
  • off-leash dog parks and parking lot
  • public parking lots 
  • portable toilets located at Beachpoint Promenade, Village East Park, Shadybrook Park and Mapleridge Park. An accessible unit will be placed in Whitevale Park on Friday, April 23. 

 

Playground Structures and Park Amenities 

Playgrounds remain open. Please note that Pickering’s play equipment will not be sanitized - remember to follow public health measures, practice physical distancing from those outside of your household, and use safely.

Permits

Facility permits

  • Permits for private events at City facilities are cancelled until further notice.
  • All fees paid for facility bookings will be refunded.
  • Please email facilitybooking@pickering.ca for parks and facility booking related inquiries.
  • Library room bookings have been cancelled until further notice. Refunds will be issued.

Sports Fields Permits 

  • Turf field permits will no longer be issued and turf fields at Kinsmen Park and Beverley Morgan are closed.
