The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) Board of Directors approved the updated Carruthers Creek Watershed Plan (CCWP) in September 2021. The updated CCWP was developed by the TRCA in collaboration with the Region of Durham, the City of Pickering and the Town of Ajax. The update of the Watershed Plan commenced in 2015, and included various stakeholder and public engagement opportunities.

The development of the updated CCWP included an evaluation of current conditions and the identification of measures to protect, enhance and restore the health of the watershed.
