About the Artwork

"A Chorus on the Wall" was inspired by the vibrant community of Pickering. During my time here, I had the pleasure of meeting local residents, especially the children, who generously shared their creativity with me. Some of their drawings are now woven into this mural, so one day, they can look at it and proudly say, "Hey look, I helped with this mural!" Creating this mural and decorating the city with my art has been a true privilege. My hope is that this mural not only celebrates their voices but also encourages more young minds to explore the joy of creating and the magic of play. 

About the Artist

Rainier Naomi (She/Her) is a Filipino-Canadian freelance artist specializing in digital media, known for her vibrant color palettes and her ability to weave storytelling into whimsical illustrations. Passionate about visual storytelling, Rainier has been commissioned for mural projects by the City of Pickering, the City of Barrie, and the Mississauga Arts Council, embracing the power of community-centric art to inspire and connect people. Her work has also been featured in Wandering Autumn Magazine, and she currently works as a designer at Creative Birds Co., a design agency she co-founded with college friends. Looking to the future, she hopes to expand her mural work and create more art that resonates with communities, bringing people together through shared creative experiences.
