Winter Nights, City Lights: A Walk-Thru Experience

Nightly until February 2022
Esplanade Park

Take a winter walk through Esplanade Park and experience the magic all season.

Immerse yourself into recorded performances including LED dancers, live performers
from Groove Marmalade, and a tree lighting countdown, placed throughout the
park via QR codes. View our new LED Tree Light Sculpture, lit by Elexicon and
Capture the Moment inside Pickering’s Light Tunnel and selfie stations by OPG.
Enjoy the magic now until February 2022.


Cultural Fusion Festival

August 19-21
Esplanade Park

A unique, one of a kind festival that will give attendees the opportunity to celebrate the many places where culture has melded and fused to create new and beautiful traditions and cultural practices, through food, entertainment and music.



Artfest will be back in person for 2022, in Esplanade Park.  Residents can enjoy browsing through an open-air market while experiencing the sights and sounds of artistic expressions.   New this year, we are extending the artist market to three Saturdays in Esplanade Park!

Summer Concerts

Summer Concerts are back in person for 2022.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a new concert each week in July and August

Mentorship Program: Collaborate & Connect through City Events

The City of Pickering is pleased to offer a mentorship program for organizations interested in developing their event planning skills. Share your message and create a lasting impression on the residents of Pickering.

Successful applicants will partner with a business or community organization and the City event planning team, to plan and execute an activity during a City-operated event.

Who Can Apply?

Community Organizations and Not-for-Profits serving Pickering, in partnership with one another, or a Local Business.

What is Required?

  • Activities presented must be free of charge
  • Applicants must fund their idea
  • Partners must attend at minimum 3 planning meetings
  • Partners must meet planning timelines
  • 6 applicants will be accepted for 2022 based upon the feasibility/community benefit of their proposal

What does the City provide?

  • Basic equipment to support your activity
  • Event Promotions
  • Mentorship and Guidance throughout the process
