Open Studio

This is an opportunity for Open Studio Members to practice, or improve already established skills, and work independently on projects. Membership is required to access Open Studio. 

Open Studio Members must:

  • have completed two full course sessions before joining.
  • be  familiar with the policies and procedures of the pottery studio.
  • be able to work on their projects without instruction.

note: All clay must be purchased from the City of Pickering Art Studio. Other/outside clay is not permitted to be brought into the studio.


Art Classes, Creative Workshops & Pottery Classes

A great way to unwind, refocus, and get in touch with your creative side. Arts Studio programs can be found in your City Services guide or online at pickering.ca/active

Pottery Parties

Celebrate and get creative with clay in a 2 hour, interactive private workshop.

An experienced instructor will guide guests through the creative process of creating with clay. Creations will be fired in the kiln and guests will have a lasting keepsake of their experience. Great fun for kids and adults alike!

Participants must be over 6 yrs of age.
10 guest minimum / 15 guest maximum
$25.00 per guest 
additional $5.00 per guest to make projects food safe.

Teachers’ Corner

Creative Art & Education: School Electives

An opportunity to learn, engage, appreciate, and discover the art of pottery through hands on, creative learning. While participating, students will be improving and developing constructive thinking skills, hand to eye coordination, motor skills, and enjoying time in the process. 

All elective programs are conducted by qualified Art and Pottery Education Instructors. A variety of curriculum based programs are available throughout the school year.

Programs are designed for students grades 3 - 8 and grades 9 - 12

Class bookings available Monday to Friday during the school year (September - June)

  • 9:00 am - 2:00 pm 1.5 - 2 hours per Elective Program
  • $15.00 per student (includes instruction and all supplies)
  • Minimum 10 students / Maximum 15 students
