All outdoor ice rinks are closed for the season.

Pickering's Natural Ice Rinks

Please note that the ground must be frozen and the weather must remain below -4º (24ºF) for several consecutive days before attempting to build ice, and the entire rink must be completely frozen, with thick enough ice in order to ensure the safety of the public and be open for use.

Locations

  • Claremont Memorial Park (full rink size)
  • Greenwood Park (80 x 150 ft)
  • Whitevale Park (40 x 93 ft)

Each rink is supplied with picnic tables, garbage receptacles and a rink rules sign.

Health and safety: All outdoor rinks are for leisure skating only. No hockey, ringette or other sports will be permitted on the rinks.

Our rinks are inspected daily. If the ice surface is deemed to be unsafe (i.e.: ice not yet established or thick enough, thawing conditions), the rink will be signed and posted as closed on this web page.

City staff will aim to clear the snow from the rinks after each weather event but please note that road and sidewalk winter control operations will take priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
