We are committed to meeting the needs of our growing community and providing accessible programs, services and resources to all of our residents.

Accessible Pickering is an easy and convenient way to access information about accessibility within Pickering and the broader community.  Below you will find information on accessible City facilities and services, external resources, quick links, and helpful tools to navigate the website.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

As one of the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 (AODA), the City of Pickering prepares a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan. This Plan sets out the steps the City will take:
  • to work toward removing existing barriers for persons with disabilities
  • to plan for the prevention of new barriers, and
  • to achieve compliance with the AODA regulations
Each year, the City prepares a report which provides information about the progress that has been achieved towards meeting the goals of the Plan.
The prior year plan and reports are provided below:
  • Accessibility Plan - 2012 to 2016
  • Progress Report - 2013
  • Progress Report - 2012
