Litter and Plastics Challenge: Every Piece Counts
April 1 - April 30
Help take action on litter in Pickering! Join the challenge and make a difference in your community. Bags and gloves will be provided while quantities last.

Prom Boutique
April 1 - April 30
Prom season is just around the corner! In partnership with the Pickering Public Library, we are hosting our first ever Prom Boutique. We need the community’s support and are currently looking for new or gently used dresses, suits, shirts and dress pants at this time. We ask that the dress wear is clean, and free from rips, stains, and blemishes. Donations can be dropped off during operating hours at the Pickering Central Library (One The Esplanade).
*This event will be hosted in May, in an effort to provide young graduates with formal clothing for their prom. This is for High School Graduates in 2023.
Kick off Earth Month by Making a Birdhouse (6 - 12 years of age)
Monday, April 3, 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Participants will have the opportunity to design, build and paint their own birdhouse to take home.

Webinar: Invasive Species & Their Environmental Impact
Tuesday, April 18, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Participants will learn about invasive species and how to identify and control them in their garden and community.

20 Minute Makeover
Friday, April 21
Schools, families, community groups and businesses commit to giving a section of our community a makeover by picking up litter for at least 20 minutes. Bags and gloves will be provided while quantities last.

Take Pride in Pickering Tree Planting
Saturday, April 22, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Duffin Heights, 1565 -1567 Winville Road, Pickering
Community tree planting and litter clean-up. Get involved today! This event will run rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. *High School Students that participate can receive credit for community hours*
This is a joint venture with the City of Pickering, Ontario Power Generation, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and other partners in Environmental Stewardship Pickering.
