Throughout the month of June and beyond, we encourage staff, residents and community partners to take time to learn, reflect and engage in the many initiatives across Durham Region that honour the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

The City of Pickering will be joined by PFlag Durham Region for a Flag Raising ceremony of the Progress Pride Flag at City Hall. The ceremony will begin at 10:00am |

In partnership with Durham Children's Aid Society and Youth Pride Durham, all libraries in Durham Region present Drag Queen Story Time, featuring two fabulous queens. This family-friendly program showcases stories celebrating diversity and inclusion. The Storytime will be followed by musical performances, popcorn, and cotton candy! The Durham Pride Parade will take place from 1:00pm – 2:00pm in Ajax, beginning at Falby Court and proceeding through Harwood Avenue South, Kings Crescent, the Town of Ajax Parking Lot, and ending at Arbour Park (55 Harwood Ave. S) where there will be a Vendor Fair and entertainment until 5:00 pm. https://www.pridedurham.ca/upcoming-events/pride-festival-pride-parade |

Join for an evening of learning and art making in partnership with The ArQuives, Canada’s LGBTQ+ Archives! Learn about LGBTQ2+ history in Canada and the amazing LGBTQ2+ library, archival, and artifact collections that showcase this history. Youth Pride Durham is a safe, inclusive celebration for youth, children and families who are part of 2SLGBTQI+ communities. Allies are also welcome! This free event champions acceptance through an afternoon of performances, music, dancing and fun activities. It also provides a forum for community organizations and agencies to gather in the Resource Village. |

Join Pride Toronto after the Pride Parade for a Two-Spirit and Indigenous community gathering at the Garden Stage.
