Use of Ice Bikes, ATV's and Off Road Vehicles on Frenchman's Bay

Posted on Friday January 29, 2016

In response to public safety concerns, the City of Pickering is reminding the public that Ice Bikes, ATV’s and Off Road Vehicles are not permitted on Frenchman's Bay.

Use of these vehicles is prohibited south of the Gatineau Line Hydro Corridor, as per the City's Off-Road Vehicle By-law 1983/85, and within City parks or property, including Toronto and Region Conservation Authority lands, as per the City's Parks By-law 5495/99. In addition, Provincial regulations require that those operating the vehicles have the proper registration and insurance.

The City's Municipal Law Enforcement Services will be partnering with Durham Regional Police to investigate the use of Ice Bikes, ATV's and Off Road Vehicles on Frenchman's Bay. Please report any related concerns to the City's Customer Care Centre at 905.683.7575, customercare@pickering.ca, or Durham Regional Police at 905.579.1520.
