Private and School Tours of our heritage village are available from April to December. During the winter months, we still offer birthday parties, facility rentals, and programs. To book a tour, please call 905.683.8401.

Public Tours, Programs & Workshops

There is so much to explore at the Pickering Museum Village. We offer a number of tours, programs and workshops to get you on your way! 

Discover the options available for members of the public:

Guided Tours

Take a 1.5 hour guided tour of the museum village during the public open season. Tours offer interactive opportunities to explore Pickering's past with a knowledgeable Tour Guide. Tours start at 11:00 am, 12:45 pm, and 2:30 pm Wednesdays to Saturdays and at 12:45 pm, 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm on Sundays.

Self Guided Tours

Prefer to explore the museum on your own? Self-Guided Interpretive Booklets are available (note: some access restrictions apply without a Tour Guide).

History Mystery Kits

Choose from a variety of themed adventures to discover during your museum visit! Will you solve the mystery? Find the hidden caches? Spy something with your little eye? The adventure is yours to choose with a History Mystery Kit, complimentary with admission and available at the Gift Shop.

Group Tours

Coming with a group of 12 or more people? Group tours must be booked in advance. Available between April and December, we offer a variety of themes for life-long learners of all ages and interests. View our Learning Adventures Guide for program details, prices and planning tips.


Can't make it to the Village? We will come to you! Our various outreach programs are designed for groups of 20 people or more. These #Museum2U programs are adaptable and suitable for life-long learners of all ages and interest.

Although most of the buildings are wheelchair accessible, the village grounds are uneven and do not have sidewalks. Please notify a staff member of your accessibility concerns when booking so that we can make the necessary arrangements to accommodate you.
