Community Safety and Well-Being

Community safety and well-being are at the heart of building a vibrant and thriving community. By addressing key areas like mental health, social inclusion, and public safety, we can create neighborhoods that are safe, welcoming, and supportive for all. A strong focus on improving living standards, promoting equity, and fostering a sense of belonging helps ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live, work, and play in a healthy, inclusive environment. Together, we are working towards a safer, more connected, and resilient community for all residents.

Join us for an informative Community Safety Meeting focused on understanding dementia and the aging process.

Facilitated by the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region, this presentation will provide an overview of dementia, explore sensory and physical changes that can occur with aging, and discuss how these changes may impact daily living activities and independence.

This session will help residents develop a greater understanding of the experiences of older adults and learn ways to support aging individuals with empathy, dignity, and respect.

The meeting will include a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for questions.

All residents are welcome. Registration is not required, but appreciated to help plan refreshments.
