Voting has concluded for Pickering Bloom's 2021 Garden of Distinction contest. Please stay tuned for more details.

Pickering Blooms celebrates the beauty of gardens in our community, and encourages the improvement of sustainable garden features.

Pickering Blooms has three great programs in 2021:

  • Online Garden Tour   If you have a wonderful garden want to show it off to your community, create and share a family-friendly social media video of your garden and we will share it with the community on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Garden Showcase   You have a wonderful garden and you would like to show your community pride. Participants will receive a Pickering Blooms Garden Showcase sign to display proudly in their front garden
  • Garden of Distinction Contest   You have a garden you’re proud of with beautiful plants, landscaping, garden art or sustainable features. You would like to enter a community contest where your friends and neighbours vote on their favourite images of gardens from around Pickering. Participants have the chance to win fantastic prizes, and be recognized as a Pickering Garden of Distinction.  NEW In 2021* Why I Love My Sustainable Garden Category - If you have a feature in your garden that is beneficial to the environment: clover lawns, landscape features, native plantings, drought tolerant plants, fruit & vegetable gardens, you are welcomed to enter this new category.

Be sure to visit @pickeringevents on Facebook and Instagram for fun features and community garden tours throughout the season.
