Preteen Social Events

A special night out for grades 5 - 8 only featuring music, games, food, fun & prizes!

All Pre-teen Social Events take place at George Ashe Community Centre from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on their scheduled date.
Drinks & snacks will be available to purchase at these events.


Halloween Spooktacular

Join us for a frightfully fun evening packed with music, spooky games, thrilling dance competitions, and more, with prizes for the best Halloween costumes!

Please remember to bring cash for the snack bar to satisfy your Halloween cravings. Chips, Chocolate Bars, Candy, Pop will be available for purchase.

Costume Guidelines: To ensure everyone has a great time, please adhere to the following dress code:

  • No clothing or costumes that expose the midriff and/or chest. Undergarments should not be visible.
  • Bandanas, masks, do-rags, or hoods are not allowed.
  • Costumes should be free from inappropriate logos, slogans, or images. This includes content related to substance abuse, violence, profanity, or any inappropriate references to nationality, race, or gender.

Ticket Information

Get tickets online at pickering.ca/active

  • Tickets must be purchased online via the City's Registration Site (ActiveNet)
  • Tickets can be purchased until 7:00 pm on the date of each event, while quantities last.
  • Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door.

Present your printed receipt (or show it on your mobile device) at the entrance doors before the event for validation and admission.

  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • Keep your payment receipt in a safe and secure place - this is your event ticket.

  • Unauthorized duplication or sale of this ticket will result in non-admission.
  • The City of Pickering is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by unauthorized duplication, and reserves the right to deny admission.
  • The City of Pickering is not responsible for any lost, stolen, misplaced, damaged or duplicate tickets.
  • Failure to comply with event rules may result in non-admission or expulsion from the event.
Code of Conduct 

The City of Pickering Staff are committed to creating a fun, safe, and social experience for all event attendees.

You have a right to expect:

  • to be treated in a consistent, and courteous manner by all City of Pickering Staff at all times.

  • to enjoy the event free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language and/or gestures

  • the Code of Conduct will be enforced. If not willing to adhere to event rules, will result in parent/guardian being called and expulsion from the current event, and possibly future events.

The City of Pickering and Staff have a right to expect that you will:

  • respect and follow direction of City Staff.

  • respect City of Pickering property. Acts of vandalism or theft will be dealt with immediately.

  • be mindful and respectful of yourself and others (no threatening, swearing, trash talk, bullying, and/or other inappropriate actions).

  • not have on your person any type of weapon/toy weapon, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or lighters.
  • not engage in any behavior that may be unsafe, or harmful to others.


Dress Code:

If you can’t wear it at school, you can’t wear it to the event.

  • No clothing that shows the midriff and/or chest.

  • No undergarments showing.

  • No Bandanas, do-rags, or hoods.

Participants that are dressed inappropriately will be required to go home and change.
Please note: Backpacks and hooded sweatshirts (hoodies) will not be permitted.
