PAC4Teens
Who we are
Pickering Activity Council for Teens
We are the City of Pickering's youth leadership and volunteer council for teens aged 14 – 19 yrs. We are making a positive impact in our community while gaining leadership, teamwork, and event planning experience.
What we do
PAC4Teen members work alongside Recreation staff to help plan, promote, and support youth programs, special events, and community initiatives throughout the year.
- Through this hands-on involvement, participants gain first-hand experience in the recreation field; learning about program development, event operations, customer service, leadership, and community engagement.
- PAC4Teens members contribute to a variety of projects and events that benefit the community while developing transferable skills that can support future education and employment opportunities.
- In addition to earning volunteer hours, participants have access to professional development opportunities, including certifications and training such as HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development and Standard First Aid/CPR. These experiences help build confidence, strengthen resumes, and provide valuable workplace skills.
PAC4Teens is also a great way to meet new people, develop friendships, and connect with other youth who are passionate about making a difference in their community.
Committee members:
- meet once a month at George Ashe Community Centre
- actively plan, develop, and promote at least 3 different youth initiative including Fall Food Drive, hygiene kits for homeless, HipHop in the Park, and Youth Week activities
- earn community service hours required for high school graduation
are Pickering residents between 14 - 19 years of age
