City invites residents to shape the next decade of arts, culture, and public art in Pickering
Pickering, ON, November 25, 2025 – The City of Pickering is developing new Cultural, Museum, and Public Art Plans to guide programs and services from 2026 to 2036, and community input is being sought.
These new plans will establish a shared vision, set meaningful goals, and outline actionable steps to ensure arts, culture, and public art continue to enrich the community, support economic development, and strengthen Pickering’s identity.
Community members are encouraged to complete the questionnaire available at LetsTalkPickering.ca/CulturalSP. Feedback will help:
- shape the programs, services, festivals, and events that bring the community together.
- guide investments in arts, culture, and heritage.
- create public spaces and experiences where community, creativity, and culture thrive.
An in-person Open House will be held on Thursday, November 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Dr. Nelson F. Tomlinson Community Centre (4941 Old Brock Road in Claremont) for residents to learn more and engage with the project team. No registration required.
From city-wide celebrations and community events to local programs, visits to the Pickering Museum Village, and public art that brightens daily life – arts and culture are deeply woven into everyday experiences. These shared moments shape how residents connect, celebrate, and engage with their city – underscoring the importance of community insight in shaping the future of Pickering’s cultural landscape.
