Holiday Operating Hours at City facilities for National Day for Truth & Reconciliation: Wednesday, September 30, 2026

Please be advised that construction activities will be taking place at Valleyview Park for the replacement of the existing asphalt pathway. The pathway replacement will match the existing footprint around the baseball 
diamond and connection between Westcreek Drive and Valleyview Drive.

Purpose: Pathway Replacement
Duration: Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 to Friday, October 2nd, 2026

Please be advised that the reopening of Dunmoore Dog Park has been further 
delayed due to ongoing poor weather and site conditions. Construction work 
is now expected to resume the week of September 28. We understand that 
this extended closure is frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the 
continued inconvenience.

Installation of interior metal flashing around the existing skylights at the Chestnut Hill Developments 
Recreation Complex (CHDRC) is scheduled to begin Monday, September 28, 2026, and will finish on 
Friday, October 2, 2026.   
The health club will be closed to members on October 1, 2026, and will reopen at 7:00 pm on 
October 2, 2026. 

Duration: September 21, 2026 to December 23, 2026 

Please be advised that public swim and swim programs at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex Pool will be cancelled on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and Sunday, October 18,2026, for a swim meet.

Pickering, ON, September 9, 2026 – The City of Pickering is inviting residents to help shape how traffic concerns are identified, assessed, and prioritized in neighbourhoods across the community. As part of the development of new Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Measures Guidelines, the City has launched a public survey and interactive mapping tool to better understand residents’ experiences with traffic and road safety across Pickering.

TRCA is advising of an increased potential for flooding within its river systems due to the risk of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall over a short period. These conditions could result in rapidly rising water levels and localized flooding.
