While a Heat Warning remains in effect, the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (CHDRC) will serve as a designated Cooling Centre for residents seeking relief from the heat.

Pickering, ON, July 9, 2026 – The City of Pickering is turning community input into action, with new outdoor fitness stations moving ahead in three neighbourhood parks following Pickering’s first-ever participatory budget process.
The lower off-leash dog park and pathway at Grand Valley Park will be closed for geotechnical testing.
Westney Road will be closed from 4465 Westney Road to 8th Concession Road to conduct road
rehabilitation work.
Pickering, ON, July 8, 2026 – The City of Pickering is inviting residents to help shape a new Online Service Portal that will make it easier to access City services, submit requests, and track the status and progress online through a personalized profile. The portal is part of Pickering’s continued focus on citizen-first service and good governance, giving residents more choice in how they connect with the City.
Roof replacement work at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (CHDRC) has been extended and is now anticipated to continue through Friday, July 31, 2026.
The roof is being replaced at Dunbarton Indoor Pool. The pool will be closed for the duration of the project. Construction is expected to be complete by August 23, 2026, subject to suitable weather and supply chain.
All public swim and swimming lessons continue at Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex.
