February 26, 2025 - The 2025 Weight Restriction Season for City of Pickering roads begins March 1st and is set to end on April 30th. The actual end date will be determined following reviews of road and weather conditions toward the end of the Weight Restriction Season. Signs will be erected on all City roads where these weight restrictions apply.
February 26, 2025 – Due to Councillor Lisa Robinson’s ongoing, disruptive, and harassing behaviour towards City staff, we have made the mutual decision that staff will not attend the Executive Committee and Planning & Development Committee meetings on March 3, 2025, or the City Council meeting on March 24, 2025.
February 24, 2025 - Pickering Fire Services invites community members to celebrate Sparky the Fire Dog’s birthday with a fun-filled event on Friday, March 14 from 10 am to 1 pm at Pickering Fire Headquarters (1700 Zents Drive).
Proposal
The applicant is proposing to develop a residential subdivision with 76 lots for detached dwellings,
5 blocks for 28 street townhouses, two public roads, a stormwater pond, and open space blocks.
To support this development, the applicant is proposing to amend the City’s Consolidated Zoning
By-law 8149/24, which currently zones the property for agricultural uses. The applicant is
proposing to rezone the site to appropriate residential zone categories to facilitate this
development.
February 18, 2025 - The City has received applications for an Official Plan Amendment (OPA 24-003/P) and a Zoning By-law Amendment (A 05/24), submitted by 705 Kingston Road Ltd. The subject lands are located at the southeast corner of Kingston Road and Whites Road, known as the Whites Road Shopping Centre located at 705 Kingston Road. Under the Planning Act, any person may submit an application for development to be considered by City Council. City Council has not yet considered these applications.
