City seeks passionate volunteers to join City Boards, Committees, and Taskforces

Pickering, ON, September 14, 2026 – The City of Pickering is looking for a diverse range of volunteers to help inform local decision-making by serving on various City Boards, Committees, and Taskforces.

Community participation is an important part of local government, and these volunteer opportunities give residents a meaningful way to share their perspectives, experience, and knowledge on matters that impact Pickering.

Supporting an engaged and informed community is a key priority of the City’s Corporate Strategic Plan. By creating opportunities for residents to participate in municipal processes and contribute to important community discussions, the City continues to strengthen connections between local government and the people it serves.

The City is inviting interested residents to apply to serve on the following:

• Accessibility Advisory Committee
• Animal Services Appeals Committee
• Committee of Adjustment
• Community Safety and Well-being Advisory Committee
• Cultural Advisory Committee
• Heritage Pickering Advisory Committee
• Livestock Valuer
• Property Review Committee
• Pickering Anti-Black Racism Taskforce
• Pickering Public Library Board
• Vehicle for Hire Committee
• Waterfront Visionary Advisory Committee

Boards, Committees, and Taskforces fulfill a variety of mandates and provide Council with advice, recommendations, and community perspectives on important City matters.

Serving on one of these bodies is an opportunity for residents to become more involved in their community, learn more about municipal government, and contribute to discussions and decisions that affect Pickering.
