The City of Pickering is holding a Special Council Meeting to initiate a review of its Official Plan. This is the beginning of a multi-year project, Pickering Forward, that will help shape the growth of Pickering to 2051.
The public meeting will provide interested parties the ability to learn more about the Official Plan review process and provide opinions about the types of changes to the Official Plan that may be needed.
Proposal
The applicant is proposing a residential subdivision consisting of 21 lots for townhouse dwellings fronting onto a new public road accessed from Woodview Avenue.
The City is undertaking a Secondary Plan for a new community in Pickering, that covers over 1,600 hectares of land. The purpose of the Secondary Plan is to guide the significant residential and business growth anticipated for this area.
Pre-Submission Application
***Please note that this application is for Pre-Submission and is proceeding through the City's new Pre-Submission Application process. The pre-submission application process is required prior to a formal Planning Act application being submitted. Through this iterative process, the City will seek feedback from public agencies and members of the public.
Peter Matthews Drive ( Concession Road 3) in Pickering, between Valley Farm Road and Clearside Court will be closed to facilitate road reconstruction, widening and bridge construction. Closure is expected to be in place until the Fall of 2026.
January 19, 2024: Did you know that the City of Pickering is mandated to have a Council Code of Conduct and has the authority to appoint an Integrity Commissioner under the Municipal Act? The Integrity Commissioner is an independent and impartial official who provides advice, education, and complaint resolution pertaining to the ethical conduct of municipal council members.
