Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex is a Warming Centre

Purpose: Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex is a designated Warming Centre during cold weather warnings.

Duration: Current warning has been extended and will continue until the morning of Saturday, January 31, 2026.

While a cold weather warning is in effect, the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex will be a designated warming centre. Leashed pets are welcome provided they are well controlled by their owner.

The current warning has been extended and will continue until the morning of Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Hours of Operation for the Recreation Complex:

Monday – Friday: 6:00 am to 11:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Overnight Shelter:

An emergency overnight warming centre will be available at Peace Lutheran Church (928 Liverpool Rd), operated in partnership with the Region of Durham and DARS.

The centre will operate nightly from December 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, offering a safe, warm space for residents in need.

Hours of operation for the overnight centre:

Saturday – Thursday: 9:00 pm – 8:00 am
Friday: 10:00 pm – 8:00 am
