Cancellation of all City recreation programs due to severe weather

Purpose: Program Cancellations due to severe weather

Duration: February 18, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm

Please be advised that all City of Pickering programs are cancelled today, Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm due to continuing severe weather and current road conditions. All facilities remain open. Programs are planned to resume as scheduled tomorrow morning, Thursday, February 19, 2026.

A make-up class will be added to the current session where possible or refunds will be issued.

The Recreation Complex is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Overnight Shelter:
An emergency overnight warming centre will be available at Peace Lutheran Church (928 Liverpool Rd), operated in partnership with the Region of Durham and DARS. The centre will operate nightly from December 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, offering a safe, warm space for residents in need.

Hours of operation for the overnight centre:
Saturday – Thursday: 9:00 pm – 8:00 am
Friday – 10:00 pm – 8:00 am
