Pickering Fire Services invites community members to Sparky’s Birthday Party

Pickering, ON, March 11, 2026 – Pickering Fire Services invites community members to celebrate Sparky the Fire Dog’s birthday with a fun-filled event on Friday, March 20 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at Pickering Fire Headquarters (1700 Zents Drive).

This free, family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, including:

• Fire truck tours – get an up-close look at Pickering’s fire trucks and equipment
• Educational activities and demonstrations – learn important fire prevention and safety tips
• Meet & Greet with Sparky – wish Sparky a happy birthday and take photos with him

“Every year, we look forward to celebrating Sparky’s birthday with the community, combining fun, learning, and practical fire safety advice for everyone,” said Fire Chief, Steve Boyd. “This is a great opportunity for community members to connect with Pickering Fire Services and engage in meaningful discussions about fire prevention, as well as simple steps everyone can take at home to protect themselves and their loved ones.”

In lieu of a gift for Sparky, Pickering Fire Services will be accepting non-perishable donations.
