Region of Durham Notice of Construction - Lighting on Brock Road in Pickering

Purpose: Notice of Construction - Lighting on Brock Road in Pickering

Duration: February 17, 2026 - June 1, 2026 

The Regional Municipality of Durham will begin construction of advanced roadway illumination on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) from Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to Alexander Knox Road (Regional Road 40) in the City of Pickering.

What work is being done?

Remove existing roadway lighting fixtures.

Install new street lighting on the west side of Brock Road from Taunton Road to Alexander Knox Road, including the intersection of Taunton Road and Brock Road.

How will traffic be affected?

Lane restrictions at the intersection of Brock Road and Taunton Road will be required during construction. Intermittent lane disruptions may occur on Brock Road.

Local traffic and emergency access will be maintained at all times.  

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of construction workers, pedestrians and cyclists.
