The Regional Municipality of Durham will begin construction of advanced roadway illumination on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) from Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to Alexander Knox Road (Regional Road 40) in the City of Pickering

The City of Pickering is preparing for extreme cold and heavy snowfall this weekend. City crews will be clearing roads and sidewalks in priority sequence in accordance with established winter maintenance standards. We thank you for your patience and cooperation, and encourage caution if travel is necessary. Updates will be provided as conditions change.

Contractors will begin renovations to the family, men’s, and women’s washrooms on the ground floor of the Pickering Public Library Central Branch on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The project is scheduled to be completed by Friday, March 6, 2026.
Whitevale Road from Sideline 24 to Peter Matthews Drive will be temporarily closed to facilitate future development.
