Interactive Winter Operations Map
The City of Pickering is currently experiencing technical issues with its Interactive Winter Operations Map. As a result, the portal may display some inaccuracies, such as roads appearing plowed when they have only been salted. Until this issue has been resolved, please do not rely on the map for current road conditions.
The City has contacted the external service provider for investigation. We will provide you with an update once they have resolved the issue.
Please note: this is a display issue only. Winter operations are fully underway and will not be affected by the portal’s technical issue. Thank you for your patience as crews work safely to complete the snow-clearing process.
Please visit pickering.ca/SnowClearing for winter reminders, snow safety tips, and more.
Customer Care Centre
Our Customer Care Centre and after-hours service may experience high call volume during severe weather. We thank you for your patience as staff work to support residents.

January 10, 2024: There are some falsehoods circulating on the Internet about 15-minute cities, including claims of government restrictions and limitations placed on resident movement, travel, activity and more. For planning and developing new communities, 15-minute cities simply means being able to access many of the essential services one might need, all within a 15-minute commute of home. Think pharmacy, grocery, retail, transit, and other basic services.
January 10, 2024: Staff work to seek out additional funding opportunities to help relieve the residential tax load - the Casino is one of them! Since opening in July 2021, Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation (OLG) has issued non-tax gaming revenue payments, totaling $42,429,023, to the City of Pickering for hosting the facility, as part of its Municipal Contribution Agreement with OLG. Pickering also shares a portion of this revenue with the Region of Durham.

November 14, 2023 - The City of Pickering had recently submitted two proposals to purchase Frenchman’s Bay and related land holdings from the Pickering Harbour Company, which were ultimately rejected by the seller.
With the hope of returning Frenchman’s Bay to the public realm, the City attempted to purchase 174.7 acres of Pickering Harbour Company’s water and land holdings at the foot of Liverpool Road. When this was rejected, the City submitted a second unsuccessful proposal to acquire only the Bay itself (the submerged real estate).
The City of Pickering is celebrating frontline workers and first responders through two new murals currently installed at Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (CHDRC). Artists connected with first-responders and sought out feedback from the community for their artworks.
The public art piece named “You Can Never Close Nature” by Artist FATSPATROL (Fathima Mohiuddin) in partnership with Mural Routes, and is located at the exterior wall of West Shore Community Centre, 1011-1015 Bayly Street, Pickering and on a couple of the concrete walls at the West Shore Skate Spot. FATSPATROL’s final design was created with the help of the West Shore community and is reflective of the neighborhood and the recreational activities that take place in this location. The mural includes themes and images of the diverse natural environment that coexist in the West Shore community.
The City of Pickering is celebrating the iconic Canadian Author Lucy Maud Montgomery and her many connections to the Durham Region. Two original murals have been created by artist Meegan Lim thanks to a Government of Canada investment through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) as part of the Tourism Relief Fund.
