Notice of Temporary Road Closure - Sixth Concession Road

Temporary Road Closure – Sixth Concession Road at Greenwood Bridge & Access to Highway 7 via Greenwood Road.  

Purpose:  T2026-6 – Sixth Concession Road Reconstruction and Greenwood Bridge Rehabilitation 

Duration: August 4, 2026 to December 2026 

The City of Pickering's contractor, Nuroad Construction Ltd., will be undertaking the reconstruction of Sixth Concession Road (Tender No. T2026-6) from the entrance to the Dorsay Community and Heritage Centre to approximately 60 metres west of the Greenwood Road intersection, as shown on the attached location map.  
The work will be completed in two phases. Phase one includes Greenwood bridge rehabilitation and road reconstruction west of the bridge and is scheduled to be completed in 2026.  

To facilitate construction, a full road closure will be required. During Phase one construction, Greenwood Road Bridge will be closed and access to Highway 7 via Greenwood Road will not be available.  

Detour signage will be installed on-site to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow throughout the construction period.
