Recreation & Parks Master Plan

In order to meet the demands of this growing and diverse community, the City of Pickering is currently working to prepare a Recreation & Parks Master Plan in consultation with Monteith Brown Planning consultants. The Recreation & Parks Master Plan will provide direction and guidance over the next 10 years for managing parks and recreation programs, infrastructure and investment in a fiscally responsible manner.

More specifically, the plan will address:

  • What types of recreation programs, services, facilities and parks should be provided;
  • Where recreation programs, services, facilities and parks should be located or offered;
  • When the recreation programs, services, facilities and parks will be needed or required; and
  • How the recreation programs, services, facilities and parks should be implemented and funded.
